Job summary

The UCLA Center for Healthy Climate Solutions (C-Solutions) seeks a Communications Manager to shape and lead storytelling, content, campaigns, and public presence that translate climate-health research into policy impact. This role emphasizes accessible communication across languages and cultures for Los Angeles communities, with bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• 5 years of progressively responsible communications experience, including strategy development and execution.
• Bilingual English/Spanish, with the ability to develop and adapt communications fluently in both languages for bilingual, bicultural community audiences.
• Global Climate Communication experience.
• Experience designing and managing social media strategy, digital channels, media relations, and multi-channel marketing campaigns.
• Experience preparing senior leaders or subject‑matter experts for media interviews.
• Proven ability to translate technical or research content into clear, compelling public-facing material.
• Experience defining success metrics and evaluating communications performance.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline.
• Ability to work collaboratively and coordinate work with leadership across a complex organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and produce storytelling, content, campaigns, and public presence that carry the Center's research into policy impact.
• Create accessible communications about health data and research that are credible across languages and cultures.
• Develop and execute comprehensive long- and short-term strategic communications plans.
• Build the Center's brand to position it among partners and audiences.
• Translate compounding climate hazards, air pollution risks, and health equity findings into clear narratives for policymakers, funders, partners, and community audiences.
