Job summary

The Johnson Public Library in Hackensack, NJ invites applicants for a part-time Circulation Assistant in the Circulation Department. The role emphasizes bilingual Spanish skills, customer service, and efficient shelf management.

Qualifications

• Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Alpha/numeric sorting abilities.
• Physical ability to bend or sit to tend to bottom shelves, and lift or shift at least 20 pounds.
• Operation of standard computer software including Google Docs.
• Respectful customer service skills.
• Patience and enthusiasm are a must!

Responsibilities

• Shelving library materials.
• Organizing, shifting and reading shelves.
• Providing assistance to patrons at the front desk, including registering new library card users.
• Answering phones and directing calls when necessary.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.
