Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English and Spanish.
• Cash handling and familiarity with a point-of-sale system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cash register and assigned area to be ready to accept customers.
• Record amount of sale on cash register and give change.
• Obtain credit authorization on credit sales as needed.
• Responsible for cashier procedures including full responsibility for monies.
• Update customer information as required.
• Inspect merchandise prior to bagging to ensure satisfactory condition and verify sales slip with price tickets.
• Dust, clean and restock merchandise shelves as assigned.
• Set up advertising signs on promotional items and any other signage required.
• Make price changes on merchandise as needed.
• Assist customers by answering questions about products in Mercado area.
