Job summary

Ideal candidates graduate from an accredited medical assistant program, have MA certification within 90 days, bilingual English/Spanish preferred, and must be computer literate with weekend/site rotation.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist program.
• Registration or Certification as Medical Assistant is required within 90 days of hire date.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
• Must be computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients from processing room to the exam room and take a history of visit and chief complaints.
• Take vital signs and document in EMR.
• Perform dipstick urinalysis, head circumference, vision and hearing assessments and document findings in EMR.
• Translate for the provider or assist with language line as needed.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during exams.
• Clean and disinfect exam rooms and prepare for next patient.
• Maintain logbooks and inventory, order supplies weekly under nurse supervision.
• Venipuncture for routine blood work and explain procedures prior to drawing.
