Family First Health is seeking a Bilingual Cashier for our new pharmacy at our George Street, York location. Candidates should be computer proficient and have the ability to learn medical/pharmacy terminology. As a Bilingual Cashier at Family First Health, you should have a positive and outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills and strong organizational skills.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
  • Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
  • Greets customers entering establishments.
  • Maintains clean and orderly checkout areas.
  • Establishes or identifies prices of goods, services or admission, and tabulates bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.
  • Handles customer concerns and complaints professionally and courteously, engaging leadership as needed.
  • Answers customers’ questions and provides information on procedures or policies.
  • Keeps accurate records of monetary exchanges, authorization forms, and transaction reconciliations.
  • Exchanges money, credit, and makes change for customers.
  • Reconciles 3rd party payment and accounts.
  • Works with the billing department to balance account(s).
  • Receives written prescription or refill requests and verifies the information is complete and accurate.
  • Answers telephones and responds to questions or requests.
  • Assists customers by answering simple questions, locating items or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
  • Completes training requirements to stay up-to-date on policies and procedures for the 340B drug program, as well as any drug assistance programs in which the pharmacy participates.
  • Follows all policies and procedures related to the 340B drug program, as well as any drug assistance programs in which the pharmacy participates.
  • Assists in training new employees, as needed.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • High School Diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Previous experience as a pharmacy cashier preferred.
  • Ability to manage cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including processing payments, giving change, and ensuring correct cash drawer balances.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new procedures, technologies, and company policies.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures necessary to perform essential job functions.
  • Excellent customer service skills & phone etiquette.
  • Ability to critically think, understand logical connections, and evaluate arguments.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work in, and respond appropriately to a demanding environment and multitask effectively.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to connect with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
