Job summary

Lutheran Services in Iowa is seeking a Caseworker (full time/part time) in the Des Moines area to perform Post Release Services and Home Studies for Unaccompanied Children and families. The role focuses on trauma-informed care, resource referrals, and comprehensive case management.

The Caseworker will support immigrant families, conduct culturally sensitive home studies, and may serve as an interpreter when language skills apply. Evening and weekend hours may be required by appointment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services with 1 year of full-time experience.
• Must read, write and speak English and Spanish fluently.
• Experience with trauma-informed care is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Write and execute home studies for immigrant populations and oversee post-release services.
• Facilitate reunification through home studies, assessments, referrals, and case management.
• Provide resource referrals and community connections using trauma-informed care throughout service provision.
• May serve as interpreter when needed for case services.
• May require evening/weekend hours by appointment or assignment.
