University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a Bilingual Associate Educator to join Green and Lafayette County Extension teams and the Positive Youth Development Institute. The role focuses on Juntos 4‑H planning with Darlington and Monroe districts, family engagement, and college readiness for 8th–12th grade Latinx students.
The position is primarily in‑person with occasional evenings and weekends, and a term through Sep 30, 2028 with potential renewal depending on funding.
The Bilingual Associate 4‑H Program Educator is a member of the Green and Lafayette Counties Extension teams and the Positive Youth Development Institute. The position will work with school districts in Monroe and Darlington as well as community based organizations to implement the Juntos curriculum in both counties, in addition to other youth development program opportunities. The Bilingual Associate Educator reports directly to the Area 15 Extension Director. The Bilingual Associate Educator will be trained in the Juntos program including core components of Juntos 4‑H, which include family engagement in 4‑H clubs and summer programming. The Associate Educator will work with identified middle and high schools and community collaborators to promote family involvement and focus on academic success, career exploration and college readiness activities of youth participants. This program will provide culturally responsive, high quality community based Juntos program to a cohort of Latinx students and others in 8th - 12th grade. Programs will include family engagement and support, and will assist youth in achieving academic success with an emphasis on going to post‑secondary education. During the summer, Juntos 4‑H participants will engage in experiential learning, as well as workplace and campus visit experiences. An emphasis will be placed on building relationships between middle school and high school students with undergraduate student mentors, academic advisors, career counselors, and business and community leaders. A major part of this role includes working with Darlington and Monroe school districts to recruit students, organize and implement the academic year long program, implement a 4‑H club program with the youth and families, and maintain contact with students and families throughout the academic years with bilingual family engagement workshops and events.
The main office for this position is located in Green County, WI and the primary programming focus is Green County and Lafayette County; however, some programming may also be conducted over a broader geographical area.
The initial period of employment will be through September 30, 2028, with the possibility to become renewable or be extended contingent upon available funding.
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated county work location.
This position may be required to work occasional nights and weekends to meet the program needs and priorities of the communities served.
It is expected that employees will make individual arrangements for transportation adequate to meet position responsibilities and essential job functions.

Compensation: The salary for the position is $41,500.
Pro‑rated Salary This is a part‑time position, which means actual salary earned will be prorated based on FTE (full‑time status). At 70% FTE, the person hired can expect to receive 70% of the advertised salary. Please note that some benefits such as paid time off will be prorated by appointment percentage.
