Apex Companies is seeking a Part‑Time, Variable Asbestos Abatement Training Instructor to lead essential training for Oregon Asbestos Abatement Workers in Portland, Oregon.

The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish and English, hold an Oregon Asbestos Supervisor certification, and have 3+ years of supervisory and instructional experience. Responsibilities include keeping training materials up to date with EPA/OSHA regulations and evaluating trainee performance.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
• Current or prior Oregon Asbestos Supervisor certification.
• 3+ years of supervising asbestos abatement projects.
• Experience as a classroom instructor or safety/training role.
• Strong knowledge of EPA/OSHA regulations applicable to asbestos abatement.
• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions for Oregon Asbestos Abatement Workers.
• Develop and deliver hands-on training on negative-pressure containment, glove-bag techniques, decontamination units, and respirator fit-testing.
• Evaluate trainees' knowledge and practical skills for competency.
• Update lesson plans and testing materials to reflect EPA/OSHA changes.
• Maintain training equipment and safety gear, keeping them calibrated and functional.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with regulations.
