Job summary

DK Security seeks an Armed Security Officer for a high-level contract at a state courthouse in Michigan. The role requires Spanish fluency and prior law enforcement or military experience. Officers will protect staff and visitors, monitor entrances, and respond to emergencies with professional conduct.

Shifts are 1st shift (07:00–17:00) with potential for evening hours. The pay rate is $24.16 per hour, and the contract emphasizes customer service, integrity, and adherence to client policies.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in Spanish.
• Prior law enforcement or relevant military experience is required.
• Military veterans and firefighting or corrections experience are encouraged to apply.
• Must be 21+ with HS diploma or equivalent.
• Must have CPL or LEOSA and pass firearm qualifications.
• Must pass a drug screen and a background check.
• Must be able to sit/stand/walk 8–12 hours and lift 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Keep people calm and orderly in halls and waiting rooms with excellent customer service.
• Maintain a presence in the building reception area.
• Periodically sweep the building and monitor for suspicious activity.
• Remotely monitor security surveillance cameras.
• Provide off-site security to VIPs as needed.
• Assist courtroom staff and visitors with security concerns and risk assessment.
• Stand guard near entrances to prevent unauthorized access.
• Assist in emergencies including first aid and handling unruly individuals.
