Job summary

DK Security, Inc in Michigan's Lansing area is seeking an Armed Security Officer for a state courthouse contract. The role involves protecting staff and visitors, maintaining order, and monitoring security with surveillance and on-site presence.

Candidates must have at least 1 year law enforcement experience, be 21+, hold a CPL or LEOSA, pass MCOLES, drug screening, and be fluent in English and Spanish. Must pass psychological evaluation and meet physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in Spanish.
• Prior law enforcement or relevant military experience required.
• 21+ years old with HS diploma or GED.
• Licensed CPL or LEOSA cardholder and able to pass MCOLES qualification.
• Must pass written psychological evaluation and drug screen.
• Not convicted of felonies or specified misdemeanors by law.
• Physical ability to sit/stand/walk for 8–12 hours and lift 70 lbs.
• Must read/write/speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Keep halls and waiting areas calm and orderly with excellent customer service.
• Maintain a visible presence in the building reception area.
• Periodically sweep the building; monitor for suspicious activity.
• Remotely monitor security surveillance cameras as required.
• Provide off-site security to VIPs when needed.
• Assist courtroom staff and visitors with security concerns; assess risks.
• Stand guard near entrances to prevent unauthorized access.
• Assist in emergencies, including first aid and handling unruly individuals.
