Responsibilities

• Concurrently performs bilingual interpretation (English and foreign language) between patient, family, and health care team.
• Performs consecutive interpretation in clinical settings according to standards.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation of interpretation activities.
• Participates in department and hospital educational programs to maintain skills.
• Identifies documents needing translation and coordinates with translators when needed.
• Refers psychosocial issues to social work or family-centered care departments as appropriate.
• Fulfills miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
