Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Active Maryland NP or PA license or Compact eligibility.
• Current national board certification appropriate to the provider's role.
• Neurology or neurosurgery experience preferred; bilingual English/Spanish or English/Amharic encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care in outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital settings.
• Conduct patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with neurological conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide follow-up care and monitor patient progress.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, consultations, and follow-up appointments as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
• Provide inpatient hospital coverage as required.
• Participate in hospital call coverage a few days per month, potentially including one full weekend.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Follow all applicable clinical, safety, and professional standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an APP to provide a combination of outpatient clinical care and inpatient hospital coverage in a collaborative neurology practice.
