Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with bilingual endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• ESL certification encouraged.
• Gifted and talented training a plus.
• One-year student teaching or approved internship.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and accommodate individual differences.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials that address varied learning styles and needs as per TEA guidelines.
• Assess student learning and use results to inform instruction.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Assist in setting instructional goals and supervising aides/volunteers.
• Create a positive classroom environment and manage student behavior while ensuring safety.
