BTI Security is currently accepting applications for Full-time & Part-time Bike Patrol Officer positions in Silver Spring, MD.

Job Skills / Requirements
  • Conduct regular and random bike patrols of exterior and assigned locations.
  • Ability to enforce rider safety.
  • Perform various security-related duties depending on the post.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, using problem-solving skills.
  • Control access at entrances and exits, including the departure of employees and visitors.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras for disruptions or unlawful activities.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures per contract.
  • Provide detailed reports on daily activities and incidents.
  • Effectively use magnetometer and X-ray machines.
  • Use communication devices such as two-way radios clearly and concisely.
  • Perform CPR or first aid when needed.
  • Maintain credentials as per contract requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED recognized by the U.S.
  • Associate Degree or two years of college.
  • Ability to ride bicycles proficiently.
  • Two (2) years of verifiable experience as an Unarmed security officer.
  • Valid Maryland Unarmed Security Guard Card/Permit.
  • Knowledge of the security industry.
  • Customer service mindset.
  • Effective communication skills for all levels of internal and external customers/clients.
Physical Demands
  • Physically able to perform assigned duties.
  • Frequent walking, standing, sitting, and stooping for up to 12 hours per day, indoors or outdoors.
  • Remain on post for up to four hours without breaks.
  • Stay alert for up to 12 hours, reacting quickly to unexpected situations.
Education & Certification Requirements

High School Diploma/GED, Associate Degree, or at least 2 years of college. Maryland Security Guard Certification Unarmed, CPR/First Aid.
