Qualifications

• 8+ years as a data warehouse engineer or DBA.
• 3+ years of hands‑on BigQuery administration in production.
• Map Teradata DDLs and data types to BigQuery‑optimized partitioning and clustering schemas.
• Refactor legacy Teradata BTEQ scripts and SQL logic into BigQuery standard SQL and stored procedures.
• Optimize query performance and slot utilization to manage costs for migrated workloads.
• Configure BigQuery slot reservations and workload management to replicate Teradata capacity.
• Perform data validation, row‑count reconciliations, and checksums between Teradata and GCP.
• Establish query guardrails and project‑level quotas to manage spend during migration phases.
• Strong SQL performance tuning and query optimization skills.
• Hands‑on experience with GCP services: BigQuery, Composer/Airflow, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, monitoring/logging.
• Experience with EDW platform migrations and enterprise‑scale data engineering.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, security controls, networking basics, and DR strategies.
• Experience with scripting (Python/Bash) and automation.
