Job summary

Berkshire County Arc in Westfield, MA is seeking a Day Program Specialist to support day-to-day operations and program development for adults with brain injury. Responsibilities include ensuring alignment with MRC/DDS ABI Waiver rules and expanding vocational skills opportunities for members.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least two years of relevant experience; a valid driver’s license and insured vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus a minimum of two years related experience with the population in the field.
• Possess a valid driver's license and use of insured personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of the day-to-day operations, program development and growth.
• Ensure that programs conform with the goals and objectives set forth by the members action plan and applicable ABI Waiver regulations.
• Implement and follow up on developing and maintaining opportunities for members to increase vocational skills toward future volunteer and employment goals.
• Ensure community linkages to resources for benefits eligibility and housing.
• Ensure that career planning, job development, job placement, vocational and follow-up services are effectively implemented.

Days/Hrs Vary, 40 hrs/wk

Responsibilities

1. Assist with all aspects of the BICC day to day operations, program development and growth.
a. Ensure that all programing will conform with the goals and objectives set forth by the members action plan in accordance with Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) or Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Waiver regulations.
b. Implement and follow up on developing and maintaining a wide range of opportunities for members to increase vocational skills towards future volunteer and employment goals.

c. Ensuring community linkages to resources such as educational opportunities and to community members who can assist with benefits eligibility and housing. d. Ensuring that career planning, job development, job placement, vocational and follow-up services are being effectively implemented.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus a minimum of two years related experience with the population in the field. Degree may be substituted for 5 years related experience working with the brain injury population. Vocational experience preferred.
• Possess a valid driver's license and use of insured personal vehicle
