Teacher Job Description

Teachers at The Brook Hill School report to the Principal over their area of teaching and are responsible for the proper care of students, subject matter, and equipment under their purview, using a Christian worldview. Brook Hill teachers are expected to support one another and work together toward an excellent overall academic program.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish and adjust course outlines and objectives by following curriculum guidelines and school goals; modify plans based on student-driven data through assessments and feedback.
  • Convey information to students using language concepts, examples, demonstrations, and teaching aids, while integrating technology effectively.
  • Maintain student-learning results by providing instructional feedback, coaching, and counseling to foster student growth.
  • Maintain records by documenting learning accomplishments, attendance, and behavior.
  • Manage and create an intentionally inviting classroom environment.
  • Guide students’ personal and social development by establishing rules and procedures.
  • Partner and communicate consistently with parents to support student growth and success by providing academic information, suggesting educational and social resources, and addressing concerns.
  • Engage in ongoing communication and collaboration with Brook Hill team members to enhance student performance and support.
  • Continue professional and technical growth by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Contribute time, talent, and resources to the broader ministry of Brook Hill beyond the assigned role and responsibilities.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
