Job summary

South Bay Christian Alliance in Chula Vista, CA, seeks an Associate Pastor to partner with the Lead Pastor in advancing SBCA's mission. Focused on disciple-making, leadership development, and pastoral care, you will equip volunteers and guide ministries in a thriving church community.

Responsibilities include preaching 1–2 Sundays monthly, mentoring leaders, coordinating meetings, and supporting SBCA’s global partnership strategy.

Qualifications

• Growing relationship with Jesus Christ and mature faith.
• Character marked by humility, integrity, and teachability.
• Ability to use Planning Center, Microsoft and Google suites, Asana, and Proclaim.
• Agreement with SBCA mission and C&MA faith statement.
• Evidence of theological education and ordination process or willingness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shepherd volunteers with vision, resources, and pastoral care.
• Oversee ministry leaders and teams and mentor emerging leaders.
• Preach 1–2 Sunday services monthly; lead Bible study and prayer meetings.
• Plan outreach, events, and retreats; ensure safe ministry practices and budgets.
• Balance ministry with outside employment as needed; coordinate scheduling.
