Job summary

Deliveroo is seeking a BI Engineer in London to own the semantic layer and operate Looker and Sigma platforms across our BI stack. You will collaborate with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists and business teams to deliver self-service BI capabilities.

You will drive governance, automate platform tooling, and support migrations while maintaining data integrity and security. This role combines software engineering discipline with data storytelling for impactful decision-making.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of BI/analytics engineering or data engineering experience.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience building in Looker (LookML) or Sigma.
• Experience with semantic/metrics layers (LookML, dbt) and governance.
• Production experience including version control, CI, and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the semantic layer behind BI platforms (LookML, metrics definitions).
• Build and operate Looker and Sigma platforms (instance/workspace config, permissions, content lifecycle).
• Lead self-serve tooling to reduce manual BI administration.
• Support BI platform migrations across brands while maintaining access, governance, and data integrity.
• Provide production support and root-cause analysis for BI stack issues.
• Champion engineering standards in BI, including code review and testing.
