EXL is seeking a Lead BI Architect to guide data and analytics solutions for our clients in Jersey City. You will own the technical direction across BI platforms and ensure scalable, governable models.

Responsibilities include designing Power BI and Tableau data sources, writing complex DAX and SQL, and establishing CI/CD and release governance to deliver reliable analytics.

• Lead BI architecture and design conversations with clients as the primary technical authority.
• Design, build, and optimise Power BI semantic models and Tableau data sources for enterprise-scale performance.
• Write and optimise complex DAX measures, M/Power Query transformations, and SQL queries for high-performance reporting.
• Diagnose and resolve data model issues (slow DAX, broken relationships, cardinality issues, data quality) quickly.
• Architect dimensional data models (star schema, fact/dimension design) and semantic layers used across BI tools.
• Drive self-service BI capability: certify datasets, define governed metrics, and enable business teams to explore data independently.
• Define BI deployment standards, CI/CD pipelines, and release governance for reliable analytics delivery.

Lead BI architecture and solution design conversations with clients, acting as the primary technical authority on data and analytics platforms.

Design, build, and optimise Power BI semantic models and Tableau data sources for enterprise-scale performance and maintainability.

Write and optimise complex DAX measures, M/Power Query transformations, and SQL queries to support accurate, high-performance reporting.

Diagnose and resolve data model issues - slow DAX, broken relationships, cardinality problems, and upstream data quality issues - quickly and systematically.

Architect dimensional data models (star schema, fact/dimension design) and semantic layers consumed across multiple BI tools.

Drive self-service BI capability: certify datasets, define governed metrics, and build enablement programmes so business teams can explore data independently.

Define BI deployment standards, CI/CD pipelines, and release governance to ensure reliable and secure analytics deliver

Base Compensation Range: 140,000 - 160,000

The posted range is the hiring range for this role - a subset of the broader range available to employees over time - and reflects base salary across our national hiring scale. Final offers are based on several factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, internal pay equity, work location, market conditions for the role, and the specific scope and responsibilities of the position. The top of the range is reserved for candidates who notably exceed the requirements; the lower end applies to those with less experience or fewer preferred qualifications. For positions based in higher-cost zones (e.g., California, New York, New Jersey), actual compensation may exceed the posted range; your recruiter will share specifics during the process.
