Job summary

OPENLANE in Carmel, Indiana is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer who is proactive and data-driven. You will lead initiatives, maintain data flow, build scalable models, and partner with product, sales, and operations to inform decisions.

The role requires 2+ years in BI and data warehousing, deep SQL, ETL/ELT, data visualization (DOMO preferred), and scripting languages. You will mentor teammates and help scale analytics across a global organization.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
• Advanced SQL skills with relational databases (Snowflake, Redshift, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Strong ETL/ELT development and data pipeline management.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, Scala).
• Strong data modeling, governance, and structuring datasets for long-term use.
• Expertise in data visualization and dashboarding (Domo preferred).
• Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel, Google Sheets).
• Self-starter with problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the BI domain, surface insights, and drive data-driven decisions.
• Partner with product, sales, and operations to ensure data quality and availability.
• Transform large datasets using SQL and scripting to generate insights.
• Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and experiments to optimize strategies.
• Apply data science fundamentals to build predictive models and trend analyses.
• Develop scalable data models, dashboards, and reports using tools like Domo.
• Continuously improve data pipelines, infrastructure, and analytics capabilities.
• Mentor colleagues to foster a data-driven culture.
