Job summary

OPENLANE is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to own data-driven decision making and build scalable BI solutions. You will partner with product, sales, and operations to ensure data quality and usage across teams, transforming large datasets with SQL and scripting languages to deliver meaningful insights.

You will design experiments, apply data science fundamentals, and develop dashboards with tools like Domo, Looker, Snowflake, and Redshift while mentoring peers to advance analytics

Qualifications

• 2+ years of BI and Data Warehousing experience.
• Advanced SQL skills with relational databases such as Snowflake/Redshift/Oracle/SQL Server.
• Strong experience in ETL/ELT development and data pipeline management.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python/JavaScript/Java/Scala).
• Strong foundation in data modeling, governance, and structuring datasets for long-term use.
• Expertise in data visualization and dashboarding (Domo preferred).
• Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel, Google Sheets).

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the BI domain, surfacing insights and driving data-driven decisions.
• Partner with product, sales, and operations to ensure data quality and availability.
• Manipulate and transform large datasets using SQL and scripting languages to generate insights.
• Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to optimize strategies.
• Apply data science fundamentals to build predictive models and trend analyses.
• Develop scalable data models, dashboards, and reports using tools such as Domo.
• Continuously improve data pipelines, infrastructure, and analytics capabilities.
• Mentor colleagues to enhance analytics capabilities and foster a data-driven culture.
