Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join the WWPS Reporting and Analytics Center of Excellence (RACE). The role sits at the intersection of BI, data engineering and frontend engineering, turning data into interactive, AI-augmented reporting experiences for leaders.

You will design lightweight web apps, build serverless data APIs, and transform data using SQL and Python, while integrating AI capabilities to enhance insights.

Qualifications

• Experience designing accessible and inclusive UI.
• Experience contributing to serverless backends on AWS using API Gateway, Lambda, Python.
• Experience contributing to front-end unit and integration tests (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress).
• Familiarity with data visualization libraries (D3, Recharts, Observable Plot, Vega) and choosing when to use them vs BI tools.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Bedrock) into a product surface.
• Experience using AI-powered development tools and integrating them into workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and build interactive reporting experiences as lightweight web applications (HTML/CSS/JS, React or similar).
• Build and consume serverless APIs (AWS API Gateway, Lambda, Python) that feed governed data to those applications.
• Contribute to and maintain tests covering rendering, state behavior, and user flows.
• Model and transform data (SQL, Python) to power those experiences.
• Integrate generative AI capabilities into reporting surfaces where they add value.
• Use AI-assisted development tooling to accelerate delivery and establish best practices.
• Partner with data engineers, product managers, and business leaders to translate needs into shipped tools.
• Contribute to design and component systems to align with the team.
