Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health seeks a BI Developer I to design and build multi-platform BI solutions, reports, and analytics, guiding data discovery from user specifications. You will train the business-analyst team in reporting and data analysis to drive process improvements and foster a data-driven culture.

You will coordinate ETL processes, develop self-service tools, and create dashboards using Epic reporting tools. Strong technical and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in computer science, healthcare analytics, information technology or related field.
• Four years of related work experience demonstrating required knowledge/abilities.
• Equivalency of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains automated ETL processes and data integration solutions to consolidate data from multiple sources into centralized databases and data warehouses, ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility.
• Identifies opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and improve workflows by developing self-service tools, data models, and solutions that support analytics and informed decision-making.
• Collaborates with internal customers to gather reporting requirements, develop SQL/MDX queries, and create and maintain reports, dashboards, visualizations, and productivity analytics using various data sources and Epic reporting tools.
• Performs quality assurance testing, including unit, integration, and regression testing, to validate data extractions, transformations, reports, dashboards, and related tools before implementation.
• Troubleshoots and resolves data integrity, ETL, reporting, and technical issues by investigating root causes, validating data, monitoring results, and implementing corrective and preventive solutions.
• Maintains Business Intelligence models, data architecture, and technical documentation in accordance with established standards, approved designs, and change management processes.
• Provides training, technical support, and knowledge transfer to end users on reports, dashboards, self-service tools, and new functionality; develops training materials and documentation to support effective use of reporting solutions.
