Job summary

GCyber is seeking a BI Developer / Dashboard Developer to transform mission and operational data into clear, role-aware dashboards for federal users and leaders.

You will design, build, and optimize dashboards, data models, and visualizations to help monitor performance, assess risk, and support timely decisions. A TS/SCI clearance and federal experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
• DoD 8140/8570Baseline certification (e.g., Security+, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP).
• U.S. citizenship required.
• 3+ years in BI, dashboards, reporting, or analytics engineering.
• Hands-on experience building dashboards with a modern BI platform.
• Working knowledge of data modeling, calculations, and data validation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs, calculations, and filters.
• Develop and optimize data models, queries, and transformations.
• Ensure data validation, row-level security, and performance improvements.
• Integrate dashboards with approved data sources and APIs.
• Document metric definitions, data lineage, and deployment procedures.
• Work with cross-functional teams through the delivery lifecycle.

Job description

GCyber is seeking a BI Developer / Dashboard Developer to transform mission and operational data into clear, trusted, role-aware dashboards for federal users and leaders. You will build data models, visualizations, reports, metrics, and interactive experiences that help users understand current status, identify risk, monitor performance, and make timely decisions.

We welcome candidates from business intelligence, Power BI development, dashboard development, data visualization, reporting, and analytics-engineering backgrounds. Candidates do not need experience with every listed technology.

As the BI Developer, you will

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, scorecards, visualizations, and operational views.
• Work with mission stakeholders and Business Analysts to define meaningful key performance indicators, calculations, filters, drill-down paths, alerts, and role-specific information needs.
• Develop and optimize data models, semantic models, queries, measures, transformations, and refresh processes.
• Implement data validation, row-level security, access controls, performance optimization, usability, accessibility, and consistent visual standards.
• Integrate dashboards with approved data sources, applications, APIs, and platform services while maintaining traceability to authoritative data.
• Document metric definitions, data lineage, calculations, deployment procedures, testing evidence, and user guidance.
• Collaborate with data, integration, workflow, platform, testing, and security teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications and Expereince

• Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Current DoD 8140/8570-compliant baseline certification appropriate to the assigned position, such as Security+, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, or another approved credential.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Three or more years of relevant experience in business intelligence, dashboard development, reporting, data visualization, analytics engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent education, training, certifications, and experience will be considered.
• Hands-on experience building dashboards or reports with at least one modern business-intelligence or visualization platform.
• Working knowledge of data modeling, calculations, queries, data validation, visualization design, performance optimization, and stakeholder-facing delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal or DoD customers and Agile delivery teams.
• Experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL, Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Tableau, Qlik, or comparable technologies.
• Familiarity with semantic models, data gateways, deployment pipelines, row-level security, data lineage, executive reporting, and operational dashboards.
• Relevant Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst, Fabric Analytics Engineer, or comparable certification.
