Job summary

The Future Talent Program at Merck & Co. Rahway invites a Business Intelligence Intern to join the Research Lab Division for up to 12 weeks, tackling data gathering, analysis, and visualization to improve business operations. You will work with multiple departments to turn data into actionable insights.

You will model data in Databricks, create reports with Power BI, and help automate pipelines. This role emphasizes collaboration, curiosity, and clear data storytelling.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (must have completed at least 2 years of college coursework by start).
• Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, or others).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of database management and data structures.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present complex data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data product modeling in Databricks using internal/external data sources.
• Develop reports and solutions with BI tools to track KPIs and metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and gather requirements.
• Analyze trends and performance metrics to support data-driven decisions.
• Assist in automating reports and building data pipelines leveraging LLM capabilities.
• Present findings and insights to team members and stakeholders.
