Job summary

Sober Haven Recovery in Woodland Hills, CA seeks a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to supervise clients, document care, and support the clinical team in a fast-paced residential setting.

You will perform rounds, monitor vital signs, assist with admissions and daily living activities, and maintain HIPAA compliance while fostering a compassionate, recovery-focused environment. This role offers flexible shifts (day, swing, overnight) and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise clients during each shift.
• Perform routine client rounds and safety checks.
• Document vital signs as assigned.
• Complete documentation in KIPU accurately and timely.
• Observe and report changes in client behavior or medical status.
• Assist with admissions, orientations, and discharges.
• Transport clients to appointments and recovery activities as needed.
• Facilitate recovery-oriented groups and recreational activities.
• Encourage client participation in treatment and community activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment.
• Assist with daily living activities as appropriate.
• Enforce facility policies with professionalism and compassion.
• Communicate effectively with nursing, counselors, case managers, and leadership.
• Respond to emergencies and crises appropriately.
• Attend shift reports, trainings, and staff meetings.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience and certifications)

We are seeking dependable, compassionate, and motivated Behavioral Health Technicians to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct care and supervision to clients throughout their treatment experience. The BHT works closely with the clinical and medical teams to ensure client safety, maintain program structure, and support each client's recovery journey. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping individuals overcome substance use disorders while working in a fast-paced residential treatment setting. Typical responsibilities include client supervision, documentation, support with daily activities, and maintaining a therapeutic environment.

Preferred

• RADT, CADC, or CCAPP registration/certification
• CPR/First Aid Certification
• Previous experience in detox, residential treatment, behavioral health, or mental health
• Experience using KIPU Electronic Health Records
• Knowledge of CIWA and COWS assessments
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Armenian) is a plus
