Job summary

Brunswick School Department BHS Athletics is seeking a Winter Cheer Head Coach in Brunswick, Maine. The role is part-time and includes a stipend, with a focus on leading the program, developing student-athletes, and promoting sportsmanship.

Applicants must have Maine fingerprint background clearance and coaching certifications, along with First Aid/CPR. Prior high school coaching is preferred; position reviews 10/13/2026 or until filled.

Qualifications

• Must have current background/fingerprinting certificate through the Maine Dept. of Education.
• Must possess exceptional knowledge of winter cheer and proven ability working with high school athletes.
• Previous coaching experience at varsity/jv/first team strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in growing the sport in the Brunswick community.
• Commitment to providing a positive, meaningful experience for every student-athlete.
• Dedication to developing sportsmanship and high standards on/off the field.
• Must attain MPA Coaching certifications: Foundations of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, Heat Acclimatization, Protection from Abuse, Student Health/Suicide Prevention, Implicit Bias and Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behavior.
• Must have or obtain current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Coach the Brunswick Winter Cheer program and manage team operations.
• Foster a positive, meaningful experience for every student-athlete in the program.
• Promote sportsmanship and high standards on and off the field.
• Collaborate with Athletic Director and school staff to grow the program.
