Job summary

Acadia Healthcare is seeking a transportation driver responsible for safely moving patients to appointments, activity trips, and other events within the facility network.

You will check seatbelts, complete transportation documentation, maintain vehicles and logs, respond to on-call assignments, and provide empathetic, professional service while prioritizing patient safety.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Riverdale, GA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Valid State Driver’s License (required).
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required depending on state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to appointments, activities, and events.
• Ensure passengers wear seatbelts before starting the vehicle.
• Complete transportation documentation accurately.
• Maintain vehicle logs and report issues to facility staff.
• Keep vehicles clean and functional and respond to on-call schedules.

Job description

Purpose Statement

Responsible for safely transporting patients to and from appointments, activity trips, airport shuttle service and other special events.

Essential Functions

• Pick up or transports visitors or staff as needed.
• Transport patients for admissions and discharges.
• Assure that all passengers are wearing seatbelts before the vehicle is started.
• Drive company facility vehicle to pick-up supplies or equipment, as needed.
• Respond and adhere to “on call” schedule as required.
• Accurately and appropriately complete all transportation documentation.
• Maintain vehicle log(s) and report maintenance issues to appropriate facility staff.
• Ensure all company vehicles are kept clean and functional.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications

• Valid State Driver’s License required.
