Job summary

Finlays Solutions is seeking an R&D Scientist to drive new extracts and concentrates from concept to commercialization, while supporting cost-saving and product-improvement initiatives. The role is hands-on and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and direct customer interaction to deliver scalable, innovative solutions.

The position reports to the R&D Manager within New Product Development - Retail and requires a strong background in food science, sensory analysis, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field with 2+ years of experience OR 5+ years in a related science in the food industry.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, regulatory and labeling requirements.
• Ability to understand analytical parameters for specification development and shelf-life analysis.
• New product development and stage-gate product launch experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop beverage prototypes from concept to commercialization and document ingredients, formulations, and processing directions.
• Conduct shelf-life stability trials and document sensory and analytical changes.
• Collaborate with external applications to deliver DOE on new processes and ingredient technologies.
• Complete sensory training for coffee cuppings and administer descriptive panels.
• Represent Finlays as the primary R&D contact with key accounts and support product launches.
