Job summary

Gehl-Food- is hiring a Beverage Filler Operator for the 3rd shift (AWS, 2-2-3: 6 PM–6 AM). You will run the filler and related packaging equipment, ensuring food safety, quality, and production targets in a fast-paced facility in Wisconsin.

This role requires 2 years of manufacturing experience, forklift experience, and ability to read English instructions. You’ll perform SIP/CIP as needed and assist with line changeovers and PM tasks.

Qualifications

• 2 years of manufacturing, packaging or assembly line production experience (preferably in food industries).
• Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and PM experience.
• Proficiency using a PC and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Operates and observes production line equipment to ensure food safety, product quality and conformity meeting customer standards and specifications.
• Performs start up, troubleshooting/adjustment, stop/reset and shutdown of line equipment; clears jams and reports malfunctions.
• Performs changeovers and line clears; sets up next item packaging and coding.
• Maintains accurate work logs and inventory records; monitors inventory and production levels.

Position Overview

Filler Operator is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient operation of their assigned production filler, associated process system, and packaging equipment as necessary. At this level, the operator is proficient in sterilization, operation, and sanitation responsibilities.

What You'll Do:

• Operates and observes production line equipment to ensure food safety, product quality and conformity meeting customer standards and specifications
• Is proficient in Sterilize-in-Place (SIP), operation and Clean-in-Place (CIP) functions of assigned filler
• Performs repair functions including moderate Preventative Maintenance (PMs)
• Performs start up, troubleshooting/adjustment, stop/reset and shutdown of line equipment - Clears jams and reports malfunctions to Business Lead/Supervisor as necessary
• Performs changeovers - Completes line clears and accurately sets up next item's packaging and coding
• Reports out of standard/specification results to the Quality Department and Business Unit Lead/Supervisor
• Reports on unsafe conditions or other compliance issues to the Business Unit Lead/Supervisor
• Completes handwritten instructions and on-line documentation including Quality and Critical Control Point (CCP) checks accurately and at the required frequencies
• Maintains accurate and detailed work log (including Factory MES data collection) and inventory records
• Monitors and reviews inventory and production levels to achieve the most efficient operating conditions
• Maintains assigned work area and production environment in clean orderly condition - completes environmental cleaning requirements as necessary
• Actively participates in shift exchanges and work team meetings.
• Safely operates forklifts as needed to keep assigned work area supplied with necessary production materials
• Collaborate with various work teams and can share work experience with other employees

• 2 years of manufacturing, packaging or assembly line production experience - ideally in food, food processing, high-speed packaging or Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) industries
• High school or equivalent diploma
• Previous forklift experience
• Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and related software - ideally Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and PM experience
• Technical knowledge of aseptic filling/processing and associated equipment
