Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Beverage Director to join our team. As the Beverage Director, you will oversee all aspects of the beverage program, including selection, procurement, menu development, and staff training. Your expertise in mixology, wine, spirits, and other beverages will drive the success of our establishment and elevate the overall guest experience. Responsibilities:
  1. Beverage Program Development:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive beverage program that aligns with the establishment's brand, concept, and target market.
    • Create and update beverage menus, ensuring a diverse selection of high-quality options that cater to a range of tastes and preferences.
    • Stay informed about current industry trends, emerging products, and new techniques to continuously innovate and enhance the beverage program.
  2. Beverage Selection and Procurement:
    • Source and select a wide range of beverages, including spirits, beers, non-alcoholic options, and specialty products, ensuring the highest quality and value for the establishment.
    • Establish relationships with vendors, negotiate pricing and contracts, and manage inventory levels to optimize profitability and minimize waste.
    • Conduct regular tastings and evaluations to assess the quality and consistency of the beverage offerings and make adjustments as needed.
  3. Staff Training and Development:
    • Train, mentor, and develop a team of bartenders, sommeliers, and beverage servers, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide exceptional service.
    • Conduct ongoing training sessions to educate staff on product knowledge, mixology techniques, proper pouring and serving methods, responsible alcohol service, and suggestive selling.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and a commitment to excellence among the beverage team.
  4. Guest Experience and Service:
    • Collaborate with the culinary team to create beverage pairings that complement the food menu, enhancing the overall dining experience.
    • Ensure the highest level of service standards and guest satisfaction by monitoring beverage quality, presentation, and timeliness.
    • Respond to guest feedback, resolve any issues or complaints related to the beverage program promptly, and strive to exceed guest expectations.
  5. Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the beverage budget, monitoring costs, sales, and profitability.
    • Analyze sales data, trends, and customer preferences to make data-driven decisions regarding pricing, promotions, and menu changes.
    • Implement effective cost control measures, including inventory management, waste reduction, and portion control, to maximize profitability.
Qualifications:
  1. Previous experience as a Beverage Director or similar role in the food and beverage industry.
  2. Strong knowledge and passion for mixology, wine, spirits, and other beverages, including current industry trends and emerging products.
  3. Demonstrated ability to create and execute innovative beverage programs.
  4. Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and develop a team.
  5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with vendors, staff, and guests.
  6. Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and analyzing sales data.
  7. High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality and service.
  8. Relevant certifications such as Certified Sommelier or Certified Specialist of Spirits (CSS) are desirable but not mandatory.
