Job description

To operate a cash register and check-stand efficiently and courteously in a manner that conforms with all front-end procedures and company policies. Beverage clerks are also expected to ensure customer satisfaction by providing prompt and courteous service to all customers entering the Café.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are included but not limited to:

  1. Operate the cash register during a significant portion of the shift, adhering to cashier accountability policies.
  2. Maintain acceptable inventory levels to maximize sales and control out-of-date products through proper rotation and replenishment throughout the shift.
  3. Provide excellent internal and external customer service at all times.
  4. Identify customer needs and respond proactively to their concerns.
  5. Ensure proper food availability in the café at all times, communicating with the Deli Department as needed.
  6. Train new café employees on products and procedures within the Beer and Wine department to ensure product knowledge.
  7. Maintain good relationships with beverage and wine vendors through regular communication.
  8. Communicate department concerns and objectives with store management and the Beverage Manager.
  9. Comply with all health, safety, and PLCB regulations.
  10. Enforce Beer and Wine policies related to alcohol sales and age identification.
  11. Greet all customers and observe their needs during work.
  12. Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Handle merchandise physically by filling shelves and coolers with required products.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
