Job summary

The Department at Hudson’s is seeking a Beverage Captain to join our bar and service team for private events and daily operations. You will lead bar setup, product prep, and guest interactions, delivering flawless service and expert knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and beverages.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of bartending experience, strong leadership, and comfort working in event venues. A TIPS certification is preferred or can be pursued to join our polished team.

Qualifications

• Five years of bartending experience required.
• Knowledge of techniques and equipment for serving, storing, and handling food and beverages.
• Leadership experience recommended.
• TIPS certification preferred or can pass TIPS Class to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Lead bar set-up to ensure it is executed in a timely manner.
• Own product prep in advance.
• Review and understand BEOs.
• Assisting with monthly inventory and consumption bar sheets
• Monitor staffing levels
• Lead by example for all bartenders in punctuality, appearance and work quality; including training
• Participate in pre-shift meetings alongside event managers
• Check proper amount of bar products and glassware are pulled per event
• Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests while anticipating their needs
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of specialty, classic and signature cocktails (ingredients, specs, build), wine, beer, and beverage offerings
• Maintain fluency in all menu items and ingredients with the ability to suggest beverage pairings
• Monitor proper steps of service with the team throughout each event
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and prep areas; putting away product
• Can communicate effectively with staff members and management during service
• Report incidents and areas of opportunity to management
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership
• Support special activations throughout other Hudson related outlets

WHAT YOU’LL DO
