Job summary

Nelson Connects is seeking an Optical Manufacturing Operator in Santa Rosa, CA. This hands-on role focuses on precision in a cleanroom, inspecting glass components, and maintaining accurate records.

You will work Monday–Friday 8am–5pm, handle up to 100 pieces per task, and operate microscopes, MES, and vacuum deposition equipment while ensuring safety and quality. The ideal candidate demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and can adapt to fast-paced production demands.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of manufacturing experience in optics or similar industries.
• Strong attention to detail and steady hand coordination.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft 365, Outlook, data entry).
• Excellent eyesight (corrective lenses acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Hands-on cleanroom assembly of glass components.
• Inspect and clean glass pieces for scratches and defects using microscopes.
• Perform data entry and maintain production and equipment records.
• Operate vacuum deposition equipment and monitor tests with MES.
• Carefully manage up to 100 glass pieces per task with precision and safety.

Job description

You are a detail-oriented and reliable Optical Manufacturing Operator who enjoys hands‑on work in a cleanroom environment. You take pride in precision, have strong visual inspection skills, and are comfortable working with delicate materials such as optical glass.

This position pays: $27–$29/hr DOE

Location: Santa Rosa, CA

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm for a week or on going

What you will be doing:

• Hands – on cleanroom environment assembling glass components.
• Inspecting and cleaning glass pieces to identify scratches, imperfections, and surface defects using microscopes and visual tools.
• Performing data entry and maintaining accurate production and equipment records.
• Inspect for defects, test performance while specialized instruments, and operate vacuum deposition equipment using electronic traveler and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
• Carefully managing up to 100 individual glass pieces per task, ensuring precision and safety.
