Job summary

PlusAI, a Silicon Valley-based Physical AI company, seeks a Deep Learning Research Intern to join its Perception team in Santa Clara, CA. You will work on BEV fusion using camera, LiDAR, and radar, advancing perception for autonomous trucks in real-world contexts.

As a Ph.D. or Master’s student in AI, CS, EE, or robotics, you will design and evaluate scalable perception models, collaborate with researchers, and document findings while aligning with QMS requirements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Ph.D. or Master’s in AI, CS, EE, Robotics or related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python and building deep learning pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Solid foundation in computer vision, deep learning, and 3D geometry.
• Coursework or project in LiDAR-based 3D perception or BEV representations.
• Understanding of multimodal sensor fusion concepts.

Responsibilities

• Research, prototype, and evaluate BEV-based perception models that fuse camera, LiDAR, and radar inputs.
• Design and run experiments benchmarking model performance on large-scale autonomous driving datasets using quantitative metrics.
• Investigate novel multimodal fusion architectures to improve accuracy, robustness, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with research scientists and perception engineers to translate findings into production-ready components.
• Document experiments, results, and insights for the research team.
• Operate with the company’s QMS requirements where applicable.
