Job summary

NANA Regional Corporation, Inc. is seeking a Patient Travel Coordinator to organize travel for patients receiving medical care in Bethel, AK, and referrals to Anchorage or Seattle.

The role supports documentation review, coordination with the travel team, and frontline staff at Qavartarvik Customer Lodge. The position is located inside the Qavartarvik Customer Lodge in Bethel, with a non-rotational, local schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Must be capable of learning and operating multiple computer systems and applications.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
• Must be able to type at least 50 wpm.
• Contract requires candidate to get a flu shot pre-hire and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate travel arrangements (air, ground, lodging, meals) for patients and escorts as referred for medical care.
• Determine medically necessary travel and ensure alignment with appointments and lodging.
• Collaborate with YK Travel team and Qavartarvik Customer Lodge staff.
• Ensure compliance with YKHC travel rules and advocate for the patient and referring provider.
• Honor patient travel preferences and inform about additional services and resources.
• Coordinate extended or rescheduled travel bookings with tribal travel agencies and accommodations.
• Coordinate travel within Medicaid Travel Authorization with Prior Authorization staff.
• Verify travel requests against YKHC policies and Alaska Medicaid regulations.
• Use multiple systems to gather information and communicate with partners and clinics.
• Process Medicaid Authorization vouchers and track changes for timely travel arrangements.
• Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to meal period schedules.
• Adhere to uniform standards and scheduled meal periods.
