Job summary

Moss is seeking a BESS Senior Electrical Superintendent to lead field execution on multi-state solar projects. You will plan, schedule, direct construction and mentor site teams, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

This exempt, salaried role reports to the VP of Electrical Field Operations and requires high travel. Strong NASCLA/STS-C credentials, a construction management background, and proven leadership of large crews are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in construction management, engineering or related field preferred.
• 5 years’ experience as the General Superintendent on utility scale solar/bess projects.
• Journeyman or masters license (NASCLA or equivalent) or ability to obtain within 6 months after hire.
• STS‑C Certification at a minimum, or the ability to obtain within 6 months after hire.
• Experience with multiple direct reports and leading project teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple utility scale solar/BESS projects.
• Owner interface and resource planning at program level.
• Support superintendents in owner discussions.
• Work with Project Management team for subcontracts.
• Support and mentor direct reports and manage performance reviews.
• Create, distribute, and enforce best practices for Electrical Field Operations.
• Project completion and closeout coordination.
• Creation and monitoring of safety initiatives.
• Help manage procurement and engineering schedule.
• Assist with scheduling shared resources.
• Coordinate with other departments for resource expectations (QC, commissioning, substation, etc.).
• Budget and schedule reporting.
• Supports Project Executive in project change discussions.
• Front end/design involvement and oversight of design reviews.
• Coordinate with Pre-Construction for site visits.
• Estimate upcoming projects.

POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

Moss' BESS Senior Electrical Superintendents plan, schedule, organize and direct the construction of major solar projects. They are responsible for all field execution of the project. Senior superintendents typically will have several Superintendents as direct reports. Senior Superintendents are responsible for coordinating the timely and cost‑effective placement of the contracted work. They supervise directly or through subordinates all field construction work by the company’s forces and by the Subcontractors. They are responsible for all pertinent Safety and Quality Control policies and procedures.

• Assist with scheduling shared resources
• Assist managing subcontracted resources across portfolio
• Coordinate with other departments for resource expectations (QC, commissioning, substation, etc.)
• Budget and schedule reporting
• Supports Project Executive in project change discussions
• Front end/design involvement
• Oversees internal design review and coordination
• Coordinate with Pre‑Construction for site visits
• Estimate upcoming projects
• Interviewing and onboarding of new salaried personnel
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education And Work Experience

• Bachelor's in construction management, engineering or related field preferred
• 5 years’ experience as the General Superintendent on utility scale solar/bess projects
• Journeyman or masters license (including NASCLA or other way to demonstrate proficiency in electrical best practices), or ability to obtain within 6 months after hire
• STS‑C Certification at a minimum, or the ability to obtain within 6 months after hire
• Experience with multiple direct reports and an exceptional ability to lead and manage project teams is a necessity

This position requires frequent physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and may occasionally be required to handle loads exceeding that amount with assistance. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, loud noise levels, and extreme temperatures.
