Actalent is seeking a Project BESS Engineer in Juno Beach, FL to plan, design, and execute large-scale energy storage projects. You will lead technical aspects across the project lifecycle, ensuring safe, compliant designs and effective cross-functional collaboration.

This contract role requires 3+ years in PV/renewable engineering, strong power electronics knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 25% to project sites and suppliers.

Formación

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in solar or PV engineering and/or construction.
• Electrical engineering background with hands-on energy storage or renewables experience.
• Expertise in power electronics, BESS design, substation or generation tie design.
• Familiar with battery storage technologies, converters, and chemistries.
• Knowledge of UL1973, UL9540, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC (IFC/IBC as applicable).
• Ability to work independently and make sound engineering judgments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for diverse audiences.

Responsabilidades

• Support design phase and engineer major BESS components.
• Review drawings, identify inconsistencies, and improve quality.
• Identify and resolve errors in studies; propose improvements.
• Prepare detailed scopes of work for contracts.
• Support projects from inception through completion with cross-functional teams.
• Influence engineering decisions to align with project goals.
• Monitor progress, manage risks, and propose mitigations.
• Collaborate with suppliers to integrate major equipment.
• Work with internal/external teams to solve problems and integrate systems.
• Interpret specifications for equipment purchasing; advise on alternatives.
• Understand permitting requirements and site design implications.
• Perform related engineering duties as assigned.
• Travel up to 25% to project sites and supplier locations.
