A leading company in renewable energy is seeking a BESS Commissioning Manager to oversee the commissioning and testing of battery energy storage systems. This remote position requires expertise in battery integration, SCADA systems, and project management. Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Remote with occasional travel within the United States to project locations for testing purposes, with an estimated travel frequency of up to 75%. The remaining work is primarily remote, focused on providing support through SCADA monitoring.
Required:
• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems installation and startup;
• Experience with technical, performance, and integration of Li-Ion batteries as part of ESS;
• Experience with commissioning process creation;
• Experience with containerized systems, skids, controllers/SCADA, transformers, combiners;
• Experience with DC systems (0-2,000Vdc) and AC systems (480V-34.5kV);
• Experience with control and SCADA systems and troubleshooting;
• Experience with BESS;
• Experience troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLC) and industrial electronic equipment (protection relays, inverters, BMS, etc.).
• Experience organizing and strategizing schedules and plans.
Preferred:
• Engineering or professional electrical experience in power systems construction and startup with min 100MW-hr or 5 EA energy storage systems and commissioning;
• Experience with SCADA.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct plant testing, performance testing, ISO/GIA/PPA Testing and startup of a Battery Energy Storage System and Solar Coupled Power systems;
• Act as the Owner’s representative to oversee aspects of the energy storage system including: compliance, status reporting, safety, startup, commissioning, and testing;
• Manage and report on commissioning, and performance testing work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site;
• Participate in safety program and audits;
• Support PPA Testing with Customer;
• Support GIA Testing with TO;
• Support ISO testing.
