Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Battery Energy Storage Systems installer/technician to lead installation, startup, and testing activities for ESS and solar-coupled power systems. You will oversee safety, compliance, and commissioning, coordinating with contractors and vendors on-site.

The role requires deep knowledge of Li-Ion battery integration, DC/AC electrical systems, and SCADA control practices to ensure reliable performance and project success.

Qualifications

• Battery Energy Storage Systems installation and startup in field environments.
• Thorough understanding of Li-Ion batteries and integration within ESS.
• Commissioning process creation and execution experience.
• Understanding of DC systems (0-2000 Vdc) and AC systems (480V-34.5kV).
• Experience with control and SCADA systems and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct plant, performance, and ISO/GIA/PPA testing and startup of ESS and solar-coupled systems.
• Oversee compliance, safety, status reporting, startup, commissioning, and testing of ESS.
• Manage commissioning and performance testing work by contractors/vendors at project sites.
• Support PPA testing with customer and GIA testing with TO; support ISO testing.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Conduct plant testing, performance testing, ISO/GIA/PPA Testing and startup of a Battery Energy Storage System and Solar Coupled Power systems
• Oversee aspects of the energy storage system including compliance, status reporting, safety, startup, commissioning, and testing
• Manage and report on commissioning and performance testing work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site
• Support PPA Testing with Customer
• Support GIA Testing with TO
• Support ISO testing

Requirements

• Battery Energy Storage Systems installation and startup
• Must have a thorough understanding of the technical, performance, and integration of Li-Ion batteries as part of ESS
• Commissioning process creation
• Understanding of containerized systems, skids, controllers/SCADA, transformers, combiners
• Thorough understanding of DC systems (0-2,000Vdc) and AC systems (480V-34.5kV)
• Experience with control and SCADA systems and troubleshooting
