Job summary

Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick’s Bequest Management Practice (CCK Bequest) seeks an attorney with 2–3 years of trusts and estates litigation to represent nonprofit organizations in disputes arising from wills, trusts, and charitable gifts. You will work with senior attorneys on high-value matters, manage local counsel, and handle hearings and mediations across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Experience in probate, trust, fiduciary, estate, or related civil litigation.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in different jurisdictions.
• Strong oral advocacy, negotiation, and professional communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior attorneys and staff.

Responsibilities

• Represent national nonprofit organizations in probate and trust disputes, including will and trust contests and fiduciary matters.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and settlement documents.
• Conduct legal research on probate procedure, trust administration, and fiduciary duties.
• Manage local counsel and coordinate with fiduciaries, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Assist with depositions, hearings, mediations, and case management.
• Develop case assessments and contribute to litigation and resolution strategies.
• Appear in probate court for hearings and status conferences.
