Job summary
Inova Schar Cancer Institute seeks a Section Chief for Classical Hematology to lead a prominent hematology program in Fairfax, VA. The role offers full-time commitment with sign-on and relocation support, a robust research environment, and access to top-tier cancer care services within a state-of-the-art center.
The ideal candidate will be board-certified in hematology, hold an MD/DO, and have leadership or readiness to lead a large hematology program within a nonprofit health system.
Qualifications
- Board-certified in Hematology (preferred)
- Current Virginia medical license or eligibility
- MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school
Responsibilities
- Lead and expand the classical/benign hematology section
- Provide comprehensive care for non-malignant hematologic diseases
- Develop and lead a clinical research program in classical hematology
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for high-quality care
- Educate residents and fellows and mentor trainees
- Engage in both academic and community practice within a nonprofit health system
- Support investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored trials
