Job summary

Houston Community College (HCC) is seeking a Senior Specialist, Benefits and Wellness to assist with administration of ERS benefits programs for Health and Optional Welfare plans. The role also focuses on developing wellness initiatives aligned with ERS strategy and ensuring compliance with TRS and ORP retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent certification plus 4 years of human resources experience may be considered in lieu of required degree.
• 3 years experience working with Benefits with a large employer (500+ employees) required.

Responsibilities

• Administer ERS benefits programs for health and welfare plans.
• Provide information on benefits, leaves, retirement and wellness to employees.
• Manage FMLA leave processes and leave notifications.
• Enter payroll status changes and resolve payroll/leave discrepancies.
• Develop communications on benefits, retirement, wellness and leave regulations.
• Coordinate educational seminars and webinars on ERS benefits and wellness.
