As a Benefits Specialist, you will play a key part in supporting our benefits administration, HRIS functions, and will cross-train to serve as a backup for payroll processing. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is comfortable managing multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism.

- Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k), including enrollment, QLEs, and terminations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and LOA coordination, troubleshooting issues with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain and update benefits-related records and personnel data in Paycom, ensuring high accuracy and audit-readiness.
- Reconcile monthly benefits invoices and support timely payment workflows with Accounting and brokers.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment including system setup, employee communication, troubleshooting, and vendor support.
- Generate and distribute routine HRIS reports to support PX compliance, audits, and workforce insights.
- Cross-train with the payroll team to serve as an execution backup during bi-weekly cycles, supporting data validation and check processing.
- Assist in resolving basic payroll discrepancies in collaboration with the Sr. Payroll & HRIS Manager.
- Maintain understanding of federal and state benefit regulations including COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and ACA.
- Partner with HR, PX, and Finance teams to align benefits data with headcount, forecast, and reconciliation processes.
- Support internal and external audits (401(k), benefits, tax) by organizing documentation and assisting with report preparation.
- Participate in ongoing documentation of processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety rules, and all relevant employment regulations.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive workplace through professional, respectful behavior and proactive issue-spotting.
- Support employee education initiatives around benefit literacy, including preparation of FAQ guides and onboarding material.
- Partner with Sr. Payroll & HRIS Manager to prepare materials for compensation/benefits benchmarking studies.
- Assist in data entry and validation for compensation reporting, EEO-1, ACA filings, and total rewards dashboards.
- Collaborate on Paycom improvements and upgrades, providing feedback and testing support.
- Participate in PX enablement initiatives as needed to improve overall employee experience across lifecycle events.
- Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
- Maintains a safe work environment and operates in a safe manner.
- Perform other job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate
- College Degree or applicable training in an accredited college/university
- Two(2)+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR support, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of benefits compliance (COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, ACA)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of general office skills and administrative procedures, including, but not limited to: typing, filing, copying, faxing, editing, and development of memos, letters, reports, and correspondence.
- Any combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job.
Work Environment
- May involve exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shellfish, Milk, Egg, Tree Nuts and Sesame.
- Communicates orally with management, employees, co-workers, vendors, suppliers, governmental compliance agencies, and the public by telephone or in person, in one-on-one or group settings.
- Regularly uses a telephone, computer (e-mail) for communication.
- Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during work shifts.

This position is currently classified as on-site.
Base Salary Range: $74,000.00-88,000.00 per year, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Holidays, Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program.
The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
