Job summary

Mobile Communications America is seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist to administer health, retirement, and leave programs, while ensuring compliance and excellent employee service. You will partner with vendors, HRIS, and payroll to maintain accurate data and smooth benefit operations.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits administration.
  • Working knowledge of employee benefit programs, retirement plans, and leave administration.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, payroll systems, and third-party administrators.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, HSAs, FSAs, leave programs, and voluntary benefits.
  • Manage enrollments, life event changes, terminations, beneficiary updates, and other benefit transactions with data accuracy across HRIS, payroll, and vendor systems.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit inquiries, guiding plan provisions, eligibility, claims issues, retirement plans, and leave programs.
  • Coordinate with benefit vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure efficient plan administration.
  • Support retirement plan administration, including participant communications, compliance activities, audits, and vendor coordination.
  • Administer and monitor leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, and related regulations.
  • Assist with annual enrollment activities, employee communications, benefits education, and new hire orientation.
  • Reconcile vendor invoices, review benefits data, prepare reports, and conduct analyses to identify trends and improve processes.
  • Participate in benefits projects, system enhancements, vendor implementations, and process improvements.
  • Maintain benefits records and ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other governing requirements.

Job description

MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist who is responsible for the administration and day-to-day management of employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans, retirement plans, leave programs, wellness initiatives, and benefit compliance activities. This role serves as a key resource for employees and leaders, ensuring accurate plan administration, exceptional customer service, and compliance with all applicable regulations.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), leave programs, and voluntary benefits.
  • Manage enrollments, life event changes, terminations, beneficiary updates, and other benefit transactions while ensuring data accuracy across HRIS, payroll, and vendor systems.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, guiding plan provisions, eligibility, claims issues, retirement plans, and leave programs.
  • Coordinate with benefit vendors, third-party administrators, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex issues and ensure efficient plan administration.
  • Support administration of retirement plans, including participant communications, compliance activities, audits, and vendor coordination.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM
Required
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits administration.
  • Working knowledge of employee benefit programs, retirement plans, and leave administration.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems, payroll systems, and third-party administrators.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and confidential employee information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, via telephone, and electronically.
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or benefits events.
YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; occasionally move equipment weighing up to 15 pounds, and frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
