Job summary

Nscale, a global AI infrastructure company, seeks a US Benefits Manager to build and scale the US benefits program during a period of rapid growth. You will report to the Global Senior Benefits Manager and act as the US benefits SME, driving market insight, program design, and governance to support a rapidly expanding workforce.

You will collaborate with the Senior Benefits Coordinator on day-to-day administration and employee support, ensuring plans remain competitive and compliant across ACA,

  • Deep knowledge of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and state leave laws.
  • Experience leading renewals, benchmarking, and plan design recommendations.

About the Role

As our US Benefits Manager, you will help build and scale Nscale's US benefits offering during a period of significant growth.

Reporting to the Global Senior Benefits Manager, you will be the US benefits subject-matter expert within the global Benefits team, bringing market insight, program expertise, and recommendations to support the continued development of our US benefits strategy.

Your focus will be on program performance, governance, scalability, and continuous improvement. Working alongside a Senior Benefits Coordinator responsible for day-to-day administration and employee support, you will ensure our US benefits programs remain competitive, compliant, and capable of supporting a rapidly growing workforce.

What you'll be doing
US Benefits Programs & Market Insight
  • Lead the performance and ongoing evolution of US health and welfare, retirement, leave, and wellbeing programs.
  • Provide US market expertise, benchmarking, and recommendations to inform benefits strategy and plan design.
  • Analyze utilization, employee feedback, costs, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop recommendations and business cases for program enhancements.
  • Act as a US benefits subject-matter expert across the business.
Renewals & Open Enrollment
  • Lead the US renewal cycle in partnership with the Global Senior Benefits Manager, broker, and Finance.
  • Analyze renewal proposals, claims, utilization, market data, and cost projections.
  • Develop options and recommendations to support renewal and plan design decisions.
  • Lead implementation of approved program changes.
  • Oversee Open Enrollment planning and readiness, with day-to-day administration and employee support delivered by the Senior Benefits Coordinator.
Vendor Governance
  • Lead operational governance of US brokers, carriers, and benefits providers.
  • Monitor service levels, performance, and program effectiveness.
  • Hold providers accountable for service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Support vendor evaluation, selection, implementation, and transition activities.
Leave, Compliance & Governance
  • Provide US expertise to support leave strategy, policy, and program design.
  • Oversee US leave program effectiveness and external administrator performance.
  • Maintain oversight of US benefits compliance, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, FMLA, and applicable state requirements.
  • Monitor legislative developments and recommend required program or process changes.
  • Identify and manage benefits compliance and operational risks.
Analytics & Financial Management
  • Define and monitor key measures of US benefits performance.
  • Analyze program costs, utilization, participation, and employee experience.
  • Translate data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Partner with the Global Senior Benefits Manager and Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Develop financial models for proposed program changes.
Technology & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead the ongoing optimization of our benefits admin platform and other US benefits technology.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, self-service, and improved efficiency.
  • Partner with HRIS, Payroll, and vendors to improve integrations and data flows.
  • Lead significant benefits implementations and process improvement initiatives.
  • Build scalable processes and controls to support rapid US growth.
Business Growth & M&A
  • Assess the benefits implications of US workforce growth and recommend changes required to support scale.
  • Provide US benefits expertise for M&A due diligence and integration.
  • Lead agreed US benefits integration workstreams.
  • Partner with People, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and other stakeholders on significant business changes.
About You
  • Significant experience managing US employee benefits programs, ideally within a high-growth, multi-state organization.
  • Deep knowledge of US health and welfare, retirement, and leave programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, FMLA, and state leave requirements.
  • Experience leading benefits renewals, market benchmarking, and developing plan design recommendations.
  • Strong experience working with brokers, carriers, and third-party benefits providers.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using benefits and financial data to develop insights and recommendations.
