  • 10+ years of progressive benefits/total rewards experience.
  • Experience with health, welfare, retirement, leave, and wellness programs.
  • Experience overseeing brokers, consultants, carriers, TPAs, and other vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA/CFRA, ADA.
  • People management experience with coaching and development.
  • Advanced Excel and HRIS; Workday preferred.
  • Professional services or law firm experience is a plus.
  • Hybrid schedule with 3 days in the Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration and ongoing management of employee benefits programs, including health and welfare, retirement, leave, disability, life insurance, and wellness offerings.
  • Manage annual renewals, plan evaluations, vendor selection, and benefit program enhancements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, carriers, consultants, TPAs, and other benefits partners.
  • Analyze benefits costs, utilization, participation, and other data to support strategic recommendations.
  • Oversee benefits budgets, forecasting, billing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure benefits programs and processes remain compliant with applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, employee experience, and benefits delivery.
  • Lead and develop a team, including coaching, mentoring, workload planning, and performance management.
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Finance, Recruiting, and other internal teams.
  • Serve as a senior resource for complex employee benefits questions and escalations.

Job Description

This is a strategic and hands-on benefits leadership opportunity for an HR professional with strong experience managing complex benefits programs, vendor relationships, compliance, reporting, and team operations. The Benefits Manager will work closely with HR leadership to ensure programs are competitive, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with employee needs.

  • Experience overseeing brokers, consultants, carriers, TPAs, and other benefits vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits compliance, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA/CFRA, ADA, and related requirements.
  • Previous people-management experience with the ability to coach and develop team members.
  • Advanced Excel and HRIS experience; Workday experience strongly preferred.
  • Professional services or law firm experience is a plus.
