Qualifications

  • 2+ years in group benefits implementation, underwriting, or client service at a carrier, general agency, or brokerage.
  • Active Life & Health license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a professional, client-centric tone.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Project-manage new and renewing groups from signed proposal through carrier approval, enrollment, and first payroll deduction.
  • Collect, audit, and submit enrollment materials and census data for clean-case acceptance.
  • Communicate carrier approvals and confirm payroll configurations.
  • Prepare and release Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation in the CRM and shared drives.
  • Build and nurture carrier relationships, responding to inquiries and resolving discrepancies.
  • Identify process enhancements that increase client satisfaction; ensure HIPAA compliance.

Job description

Acting as the primary liaison between clients, carriers, and internal service teams, the Benefits Implementation Specialist owns the onboarding and renewal lifecycle for all sold cases. You will coordinate project milestones, ensure accurate carrier submissions, and drive process improvements that deliver a seamless, compliant client experience and set the tone for a long‑term partnership.

Key Responsibilities

Implementation & Project Management

  • Project‑manage new and renewing groups from signed proposal through carrier approval, enrollment, and first payroll deduction, consistently meeting promised go‑live dates.
  • Collect, audit, and submit enrollment materials and census data, validating for completeness and accuracy to achieve clean‑case acceptance.
  • Communicate carrier approvals by delivering welcome packets, final rates, SBCs, and plan documents; confirm payroll and Employee Navigator configurations.
  • Prepare and release Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for new and renewing business.
  • Compile carrier responses into clear comparative illustrations for the Account Executive/Account Manager.

Documentation & Systems Integrity

  • Maintain accurate, organized documentation in the CRM and shared drives: account data, submission dates, email threads, and carrier confirmations.

Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture carrier relationships by meeting submission standards, responding promptly to underwriter inquiries, and resolving discrepancies quickly.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify and champion process enhancements that increase speed, accuracy, or client satisfaction; present recommendations to leadership.
  • Ensure HIPAA and confidentiality compliance at every step of the process.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years in group benefits implementation, underwriting, or client service at a carrier, general agency, or brokerage.
  • Active Life & Health license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a professional, client‑centric tone.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft365 (Excel v‑lookups/pivots, Word, Outlook) and CRM platforms; familiarity with Employee Navigator or similar ben‑admin tools is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience preparing medical and ancillary RFPs.
  • Knowledge of fully insured, level‑funded, and self‑funded plan designs.
  • Exposure to payroll integrations and data feeds.
