Gila County is seeking an experienced HR professional to administer employee benefit programs and the HRIS, interpreting regulations, developing policies, processing claims, and managing benefit changes.
You will coordinate open enrollment, assist with COBRA, maintain plan information, support disability and FMLA administration, perform HRIS analytics, and serve as Wellness Coordinator and records custodian for retirement boards.
This position administers employee benefit plans and the Human Resources Information System including: interpretation of regulations, policy development and interpretation, claims processing, insurance billing, benefit program administration, interpretation of regulations, technical HRIS support and systems analysis.
This position does not supervise other employees.
This position reviews, approves for submission and presents the departmental budget.
Provides project resource allocation based on pre-approved resources on organizational development projects, technology projects, human resources projects and employee training and development projects.
This position trains colleagues, explains County procedures or processes, responds to public inquiries, conducts and participates in meetings, negotiates or persuades and gives presentations.
This position creates or edits documents, internal memos, emails, large and complex contracts, formal lettersand reports.
Interacts extensively with employees, customers, the general public, vendors, regulatory bodies and other groups and/or individuals and Institutions over the telephone, by email, and/or in person.
Frequently (More than 25% but less than 40% in a year)
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, and five (5) years experience in Human Resources with Benefits Administration and HR Technology responsibilities; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstates the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
PHR Certification by HRCI or Certified Benefits Professional Credential by World at Work preferred.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
